Marika Sparrow is journalist, photographer, and writer based in Los Angeles, CA. First half of her life she spent in Moscow, Russia, pursuing career in PR & Advertising, before moving to the United States.

Marika considers herself a storyteller.

She discovered her passion for lifestyle and street photography in her early twenties, drawn to a cinematic way of seeing beauty in the mundane. As an aspiring writer as well, she found her unique voice by combining visual storytelling with narrative writing, creating layered form of art. Her approach to the subject blends a journalistic sensibility with painterly composition and psychological depth, capturing not just the surface but the soul of her subjects. Each frame is a candid poetic narrative where the small moments hint at a larger world.

Marika shots mostly on film, but does digital photography as well.

Her work is inspired by such artists as William Eggleston, Vivian Maier, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Saul Leiter and Helen Levitt.
